AI readiness for event venues and organisers
Capacity, dates and hire fee — the three things every enquiry asks and the page never says.
The moment
Rachel, who books a converted warehouse for weddings and conferences
An office manager asks an assistant for a venue in the city that seats 120 for a day conference in November with catering on site.
What the agent needs: Capacity, availability window, catering, and the day rate.
What actually happens: Capacity is on a floor-plan image, availability is 'enquire', and the rate card is emailed on request. The assistant returns three venues whose specification pages are text.
Which dimensions decide it, and why
AIScan grades five dimensions. These are the ones that carry the outcome for this kind of business.
A venue is a specification: capacities per layout, dimensions, access, catering, AV. Published as text with Place and Event structured data, that specification is what gets matched; as a floor plan it is decoration.
Event listings and space pages are frequently generated by a booking tool on another domain, so the venue's own site never enters the answer. Keep canonical pages on your domain and list them.
A day rate or a minimum spend makes you comparable. Every enquiry that starts with 'how much' is a query an assistant could have answered for you.
