AI readiness for recruitment agencies

Job boards are the most machine-shaped content there is — and the most often hidden.

The moment

Nadia, director of a specialist engineering recruiter

A candidate asks an assistant to find contract roles in a region above a day rate, posted in the last week.

What the agent needs: Job title, location, rate, contract type and posting date.

What actually happens: The job board is a client-side search, each vacancy shares a single URL, and rates are 'competitive'. The assistant returns results from the big boards, where every field is structured.

Which dimensions decide it, and why

AIScan grades five dimensions. These are the ones that carry the outcome for this kind of business.

Discoverability

One URL per vacancy, in the sitemap, is the whole difference. A JavaScript job search is a single page with no jobs in it as far as an agent is concerned.

Content

JobPosting is one of the best-supported schemas in existence. Title, location, salary, employmentType and validThrough turn a listing into a result.

Capabilities

Applying is the action. A real application URL that renders something without JavaScript is what lets an agent hand a candidate straight to the form.

Questions we get asked

Why do the big boards win every AI answer?
Structured JobPosting data on individual URLs. It is a format advantage, not a brand advantage, and it is reproducible.
Can we publish salary if the client will not let us?
Publish a band or the contract rate range. 'Competitive' is treated as no data at all.
What happens to filled roles?
Set validThrough and keep the URL responding with a clear closed state plus links to similar roles.
Do we need a feed?
An RSS or JSON feed of new roles is cheap and genuinely gets consumed — check E5 covers it.
Is a careers-advice blog worth it?
Yes, for citations. It is also the content most likely to be quoted with your agency named.
How do we verify?
Run a per-page scan on one vacancy URL and see whether the fields are present in the served HTML.

Scan your site and see where you actually stand

Free, no account, about twenty seconds. The report names every failing check by ID, shows the evidence we found, and gives the fix for your platform — plus a hand-off prompt you can paste straight into Claude Code or Cursor.
