AI readiness for gyms, studios and coaches

The timetable is a booking widget. To an assistant, the timetable is blank.

The moment

Priya, who owns a twelve-mat reformer studio

Someone moving into the area asks an assistant which nearby studio runs beginner classes on weekday evenings and what a month costs.

What the agent needs: Class types, the evening timetable, and the price of membership.

What actually happens: The schedule loads from a third-party booking script, the pricing page shows tiers as images from the designer, and the class descriptions live in a carousel. The assistant answers with the chain gym down the road.

Which dimensions decide it, and why

AIScan grades five dimensions. These are the ones that carry the outcome for this kind of business.

Content

A timetable and a price list are the two things every prospective member asks for, and both are routinely embedded rather than published. A server-rendered schedule page and text prices with Offer markup answer the question in one fetch.

Commerce

Memberships are recurring products. Machine-readable pricing (M4) is what lets an assistant compare you honestly instead of describing you as 'contact for pricing', which reads as expensive.

Discoverability

Class and instructor pages are long-tail queries — 'beginner reformer near me', 'kettlebell class Saturday'. If they are not in the sitemap they never enter the comparison.

The checks that matter here

Fix guides: /docs/checks/content · /docs/checks/commerce · /docs/platforms/wordpress

Most sites like this run on WordPress read the WordPress playbook for where each fix lives.

Questions we get asked

The booking system owns our timetable. Do we duplicate it?
Publish a server-rendered summary — days, times, class names, level — and keep the live booking widget beside it. The summary is what gets read and quoted; the widget is what takes the payment.
Should membership prices be public?
If a competitor's are, yours effectively already are. Hidden pricing does not create a conversation any more, it creates an omission in someone else's comparison.
Is structured data useful for a studio?
Yes — LocalBusiness or SportsActivityLocation, plus Offer on membership tiers. It is the difference between being summarised accurately and being guessed at.
We post classes to social media instead of the site. Is that enough?
Not for this. Assistants read your site; most cannot read a members-only group or an image caption.
Do instructor pages matter?
They matter for authority queries — 'prenatal yoga teacher in town' — and they cost nothing but a paragraph and a photo each.
How do we test whether the timetable is visible?
Scan the timetable URL and look at check E3. If the server HTML has headings and no times, that is precisely the gap.

Scan your site and see where you actually stand

Free, no account, about twenty seconds. The report names every failing check by ID, shows the evidence we found, and gives the fix for your platform — plus a hand-off prompt you can paste straight into Claude Code or Cursor.
